“Freedom is not merely a right; it comes with a responsibility. The true meaning of freedom is realised when we respect the freedom, rights and dignity of others,” said Mr. Sreejith, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Tirur M.A.C.T. He was speaking as the chief guest at the 80th Independence Day celebration held at MES Central School, Tirur. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by School Principal V. P. Madhusoodanan. School Chairman Adv. Hussain Koya Thangal presided over the function. School Leader Fathima Kabeer welcomed the gathering, while School Secretary P. A. Salam Lillis delivered the keynote address. In his inspiring Independence Day message, Justice Sreejith reminded the students that the freedom enjoyed by citizens carries with it a responsibility towards the nation and society. He called upon the younger generation to uphold the values of freedom, respect others and contribute positively to the progress of the country. School Treasurer K. Abdul Jaleel honoured Justice Sreejith with a memento. School Vice President P. A. Rasheed, Joint Secretary Najumudheen Kallingal, Unit Secretary K. K. Razaq, Vice Principal P. T. Benny, members of the management, teachers and students were present. Patriotic songs presented by the students and an impressive mass drill added colour and spirit to the celebrations. The programme served as a meaningful reminder of the values of patriotism, unity, mutual respect and social responsibility, making the Independence Day celebration a memorable one.
