Pre Primary Montessori
The joyous festival of Onam was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit by the Pre-Primary children on 29/08/2025,Friday .Special assembly was conducted by environment Clavia and Dahlia.The event beautifully reflected the traditions and values associated with Onam, bringing together students, teachers, and guests in a delightful celebration.
The program began with a warm welcome speech by Mariyam Zakariya, a student from Dahlia, who set the tone for the festive day. This was followed by an impressive Onam speech in English delivered by Henza Fathima of Environment Dahlia, who spoke about the significance and customs of Onam and Ayomi from environment Clavia then gave a heartfelt Malayalam speech, further enriching the audience’s understanding of the festival.
Our beloved Headmistress, Mrs. Jyothi Gopal, delivered the keynote address, sharing her thoughts on the cultural importance of Onam and encouraging students to cherish their heritage. The Principal, Mr. Madhusoodhanan, followed with a special address, applauding the efforts of the young children and staff in organizing the celebration. Vice Principal, Mr. Benny P.T., also extended his felicitation, Ishaan K of environment Begonia added a special charm to the day by dressing up as King Mahabali and interacting with the children — a moment that filled the event with joy and laughter.
The cultural segment featured a delightful skit performed by the senior students of Environment Clavia and Dahlia, portraying the legend of Mahabali and the spirit of Onam. This was beautifully complemented by an energetic and colorful Onam dance and song, which had the entire audience captivated.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Eva Fathima of Dahlia, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the celebration a grand success.
Following the stage program, the students enthusiastically participated in creating traditional flower carpets (Pookalam) in front of their classrooms, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. The festivities ended on a delicious note as everyone enjoyed the traditional Onam feast (Sadya).
The entire celebration was a vibrant expression of unity, joy, and tradition. The children thoroughly enjoyed every moment, making this Onam a memorable experience for all.
Primary Montessori
As part of Onam celebration at the Primary Montessori the following programs were organized
Pookalam( flower carpet). All the classes participated in creating a colourful flower carpet, a cherished Onam tradition
Cultural programmes :
The festivities included performances such as Thiruvathira dance, melodious Onam songs and Onam message.The children were thrilled by special appearance of Maveli and vamanan,bringing the Onam story to life.
Onam sadya:
A delicious traditional Onam feast was served to all students
Visits by Principal , Vice principal and Assistant HM:
The Principal ,Viceprincipal and Assistant HM visited the Primary Montessori to personally wish the children Happy Onam adding warmth to the celebration.
Post sadya activities:
After the feast, engaging games were conducted in each class and students enjoyed Onam theme colouring activity sheets
